This is Brian Belcher's 1939 Diamond T Super Deluxe. This is where we'll be starting the tour, and we'll be including the famous Richarson Museum in Invercargill as well.

Please Note: There is only one place left on the bus.

We still have room for 1 or 2 campavans but see the information below.

The Paddock and Shed Old Truck Tour as advertised on Cue TV

We are looking at doing this unique tour from Monday 15th to Sunday 28th November 2010. If you'd like to register your interest in joining us, just email us here or phone us on (09) 425-6797- There is room for 8 people on the tour. We leave on Monday 15th November from Auckland's Mangere at 9am, and return to the Auckland Domestic Airport at 7.30pm on Sunday 28th November 2010. The group will be flying back to Auckland from Dunedin. We will arrange a shuttle to take the group back to their cars which will be stored at Boof Wedding's truck yard.

An alternative that might interest you: We have had a few enquires from people who have campervans who would like to join the tour but come in their own campervans. That takes care of their accommodation / meals cost from the trip and they're be pretty much self contained. The only other expense they'd need to cope with is their ferry fare over the Cook Strait, the tour organisational / guiding fees.

The proposed itinerary is:

Day 1 (Depart Monday 15th November at 9am): We're looking at old trucks in the Auckland and Waikato regions and overnighting in Motel accommodation in the Waikato.

Day 2: We're in the Bay of Plenty looking at trucks and we'll be overnighting at Whakatane. A feature will be the most famous truck in New Zealand the Kenworth they call the Concorde.

Day 3: We head over to Gisborne via Opotiki and look at trucks in the district. We overnight at Gisborne.

Day 4: We go to the Dannevirke region for the day and overnight in Mangatainoka.

Day 5: We head to Greytown and on to Paikakariki. We over night at Paikakariki.

Day 6: An early start as we head to Wellington and get onto the Ferry and head to Nelson.

Day 7: We head to Ross via the west coast.

Day 8: We head to Wanaka via Haast. We overnight at Garston.

Day 9: We head on south to Riverton and overnight at Invercargill.

Day 10: A day at Invercargill and then we head up to Balclutha

Day 11: We tour trucks around the Balclutha area.

Day 12: We head north to Dunedin and overnight at Timaru

Day 13: We head north to Christchurch and overnight there,

Day 14: (Sunday 28th November ) Northern participants catch a flight back to Auckland where we have arranged a shuttle to take them back to collect their cars.

Linda will be filming the tour as we travel so we are able to offer each member of the tour a DVD of their excellent trucking holiday.

The tour fee is $150pp a day. That's $2100pp for the 14 day tour : This includes the full tour, share twin accommodation (yes you'll have to share a room with someone) your breakfasts, a souvenir cap, access fees to some places and your airfares back to Auckland from Dunedin.

However you will need to cover your lunches and dinners and your alcohol if you use it. Where possible, we will arrange for group lunches and dinners at reasonably priced places along the way. The probability is that we'll be invited to BBQ's by our various hosts along the way in an everyone chips in sort of way.

We will be travelling in a mini bus. If people could keep their luggage to 20kgs so it fits with the plane trip back to Auckland that would be great. However if you have more than that we should have a group weight concession, and if not Linda and I can bring the excess back in the minibus and arrange for its collection a few days later.

Please Note: If you'd like your own room for the trip we'll need to negotiate that as an extra cost.

If you're coming to Auckland by car or being dropped off, we will be leaving from Boof Wedding's truck yard in Mangere and your car will be safe there. There will be a map to Boof's place included in your itinerary. If you're arriving by air on the Monday morning, we can collect you from the airport.

Booking: Please register your interest by emailing us, or phoning us on (09) 425-6797 and we will confirm your place once there are enough people interested in coming along. There are only 8 places available for this tour so it will be on a first in - first served basis. Once we have a go, we will let you know and on the receipt a $100 deposit sent immediately you'll be confirmed as going. The final payment of $2000 will need to be paid by 15th October 2010.

Campervans: If you'd like to join the tour and come in your own campervan, you'd need to take care of your own travelling costs, fuel and Strait Shipping's ferry costs. Most of the places we'll be visiting on an overnight basis have enough room to accommodate your campervan in their yards.

The fee to join the tour on this basis would only be the organisational and guiding fee of $350 per campavan. If wives don't want to visit the trucks, they might like to join Linda for a tour of the local cafes and other local attractions near the places we're visiting. A confirming deposit of $50 paid on advice from us, and the final payment made by 15th October 2010.

You can contact us by email here or call us on (09) 425-6797.

We look forward to hearing from you, and it will be a lot of fun.

Kindest regards Bill and Linda
